Tactical Guide (According to Invincibles Studio)

Well then, that took longer than expected… 😬 😶

Some of you reading today’s blog might think that I have some kind of hidden agenda towards the creators of Soccermanager since there’s been quite a few blogs where I’ve “went for their heads” in terms of calling out anything I deem to be B.S (especially when it comes to tactics), but I honestly only create these specific blogs because I’m a sucker for attention to detai,l and whenever there’s been an injustice of tactical ineption I simply have to let my thoughts be known!

You can just call me a MEGA fan of this game, mate.

But yeah, let’s not ramble on for too long since this blog is past due by a couple a weeks. The main intention today is to take a look at the ‘Tactical Guide’ that was added to Soccermanager World’s main page about a month and a half ago. You can consider the style of today’s blog like a live reaction since I’ll be publishing it without any filter in a desire to display how I truly feel about this new guide. They’ll be no fluff and no attempt to sound polite. If explicit language isn’t your cup of tea then wait out until our new season (which is coming shortly… 🙃)

“Listen, I probably speak for a lot of us when I say that this is EXACLTY what we want to see within SMW. Give us that tactical innovation, but do it properly!”
“Yeah, they do indeed. Already have a blog diving into these 6 if you haven’t yet checked it out… I’ll drop a link at the end.”
“General’s explanation is pretty good but I’m not fucking with that Width explanation… Each width should only represent what we want our lads to do in possession since it’s common practice that every defensive structure aims to be compact in order to nullify the opposition. Choose ‘Wide’ if you wanna stretch your opps or ‘Narrow’ if you wanna dominate them centrally, Soccermanagerite!”
“Ahhh, so that’s why I’ve been seeing so many Managers avoiding a Fast/Slow tempo recently… 🤦‍♂️

Fellas, a slower tempo aids in retaining the ball, a faster tempo seeks to transition the ball up the pitch in a swift manner, a normal tempo is a decent mixture of both… Your tactics are what determine their effectiveness, NOT the speed of your possession!

Formation Fluidity means that you’ve granted your players freedom to roam around and swap positions; Disciplined means you want them to stay in their base position for as long as possible. The latter has nothing to do with being defensive minded.

Counter Attack IS NOT just a defence first approach! You can be an offensive Manager who likes to counter press and get the ball into your opposition’s third of the field rapidly.”
“Yeah, this one is spot on!” 👍
“It started well until you mentioned low quality chances... I get the intention, though. It’s just that some folks will read those words and immediately eliminate ever trying to use it (and that’s what we’re trynna fucking avoid). S.O.S is great for anyone who wants to get a shot on at goal as quickly as possible. Don’t be hesitant to try it out!

The explanation of Wide Play is ATROCIOUS… 🤮 None of these are dependent on the player in possession. You can have an overlapping number 7 within a 4-3-3 B crossing from the byline; one of your F(C)’s within a 4-4-2 A could drift outwide and get an early cross in; and you could invert both Fullbacks into the midfield within a 4-1-3-2 to assist the sole pivot in working the ball into the box.”
🚙🚶🏢

“So, Guardiola doesn’t create many chances at City (Short Passing)? 🤨

I’ll accept the explanations for Direct and Long Ball, but it really sounds like you lot are aiming to limit us Soccermanagerites from experimenting with these tactics…”

Side note: “So that’s why mofos are no longer using Playmakers or a Target Man… 🤦‍♂️
“Yeah, so far I’d say that I appreciate the effort to display how important our defensive structure really is towards our overall performance, but for some reason I have this sneaky feeling that the person (or people) who created this tactical guide probably has (or still have) intentions of becoming a D(C)…” 🤔
“HERE WE GO AGAIN with the continuous defensive Bravado! 👏… 😐

In all seriousness though, I believe that most of us actually want to be working more on being able to score as many goals as we possibly can. I also have to pinpoint that I appreciate the addition of a Sweeper, but some (okay, most) of its usage within the Custom Strategies were honestly quite shyte…” 💩
“Pretty self explanatory here, Soccermanagerite… The only issue is that a player gets a significant boost if they are the captain while in real life Footy that simply isn’t the case.”
Yoooo, this is something that could be SOOOO game changing! 😯😯😯

Not gonna even hold u, I’ve never actually implemented any sort of stored tactics usage prior to one of my matches since I really like to dissect my game like a World Class Doctor dissecting Reece James’ hamstrings, but I’ll most defintely consider using it within the future. And, who knows, maybe you Lot could also benefit especially if you’re currently managing more than 3 teams (GREAT way to ensure that you’re never caught lacking… 😬 ⚽ 🔫 )”
“Yeah lads, so you should already know about this one despite the fact that free Managers been trynna come at me with some serious heat over the past couple of months with this whole switch up of only Gold Managers being allowed to utilize their subs. Still tho, it’ll be a really good idea for you to cop a Gold Management,  ya feel meh 💯
We finish off this reactory blog looking at this “Tactical Guide” with another area that got mofos trynna light up some torches and come find my location…
Like I.S has mentioned, there’s a lot of varying formations that we have the capacity to utilize and y’all already know that I have that torch like explanatory heat (pun most definitely intended) when it comes to the availability of formation specific blog posts that are already on our webiste. If you haven’t done so yet, go check out seasons 3&9, and dont forget to cop a Gold Management subscription PRRRONTO!” 🏃 💨 🔥

I believe that I owe you Lads some “Superstar access”… 😬
