Season 12: Secret Code Episode 3:Mixed and Mixed (Part 2)

Alrighty, so as we promised, let’s continue our look into the Mixed and Mixed team instructions with this team that we’ve chosen in the 4-3-3A.

A quick reminder of our star system:

🌟: Player is considered an impactful player but also doesn’t have the capabilities to decide a match on his own.

🌟🌟: Player is considered one of the go to players on the pitch in terms of impact, but might struggle if all of the pressure is placed on him for too long.

🌟🌟🌟: Player is considered the star of the team, the one who the rest of the XI rely on to execute match deciding actions game after game.

The starting XI that the Mixed and Mixed needs. From defence to attack, we see the balanced approach that will be necessary for each player to aim to play at their best throughout the entire 90 minutes or for how ever long they’ve been chosen to represent your badge.

DEFENCE

We start things off with Illan Meslier whose ability with the ball at his feet should never be underestimated. He’ll set the tone when the ball is deep within your half of the pitch and will aim to instruct the players in front of him as to where they should be to best utilize their positioning.

One of the best things about playing a Mixed and Mixed style is that it’s one of the best tactical set ups for allowing your backline in getting more involved with possessional play. Benjamin Henrichs and Ramy Bensebaini have two different roles within this XI, with Henrichs being capable of making under and overlaps throughout the 90 to be utilized as an ‘out ball’ on the right flank or to place himself in that right half space to collect the ball and utilize his familiarity with playing in the midfield region. Bensebaini, on the other hand, will be responsible for forming a make shift back 3 alongside his two D(C)’s, and supporting both Mcginn and Trossard in creating an overload on the left flank but never seeking to hit the byline throughout the entire match.

In Wesley Fofana and Victor Lindelƶf, we have two D(C)’s who are quite comfortable on the ball and will both seek to take turns being a creative spark via progressive passes and progressive carries (particualrly Fofana). Both are also very capable of stepping up into midfield for a few seconds if the chance permits, but we can expect that Fofana will be more on the front foot between the two, with Lindelƶf playing more of a covering role as the senior of the pair…

MIDFIELD

When it comes to the Mixed and Mixed, this is exactly what you’d want from a midfield! Three players who not only possess versatility as if it’s a cheat code, but whom are also considered stars of this team.

We start off with the best player within this team, the Portuguese magician Vitinha, who simply keeps getting better and better with every match that he plays. He will be the main conductor of this team, demanding the ball at all times in his pursuit to showcase why he’ll be ever reliant in order for them to get a good result. Vitinha also possesses the mobility and intelligence required to play in this Mixed and Mixed, but for the sake of this XI will aim to stay within the middle region of the pitch so that he can get the ball as much as possible…

Both Dominik Szoboszlai and John McGinn have similar roles in that they’re completely responsible for touching every blade of grass on the pitch, but will be going about doing it in a different manner. Szoboszlai will seek to link up with Henrichs and Kudus a lot, finding space in the right half space region on the pitch to both create and get shots in on goal, as well as assisting Vintinha with build up play whenever necessary. Mcginn, on the other hand, will be the much needed aggressor of the team, utilizing his lungs and ball carrying abilities to get into dangerous areas, while also performing movement that the likes of Trossard and Bensebaini will be thankful for in both attacking and defensive scenarios. He’ll also be very hard for the opposition to pick up when he makes sudden late runs into the box.

ATTACK

The Front 3 are exactly what you’d want whilst playing a Mixed and Mixed style of play. It has a lot of different qualities that each individual possesses and can be used as a collective trio in order to cause problems for the opposition’s defence.

We start off with the F(C) Matheus Cunha who is a player that fits a Mixed and Mixed style perfectly as he is very much capable of positioning himself anywhere within the attacking third and making himself a nuisance for the opposition. We’ve also personally came off season 11 where we were using him during our SM24 career mode with Wolves, so we know exactly what to expect from him 😌

Many will be confused as to why a player like Leandro Trossard isn’t deemed a star within this XI, but his role is that of a utility attacker who will seek to be selfless in the manner in which he plays but also can easily be the best player on the pitch due to his consistency and match intelligence. Expect Trossard to place himself in goal scoring opportunities throughout the entire match, while also on putting in a proper shift defensively.

The final player we will be discussing is the man that many of your fans would’ve paid to watch live. Despite his “low rating”, Mohamad Kudus is undoubtedly the attacking star of this team with his unpredictably and efficiency when it comes to both scoring and creating goals. He is quite the maverick and will be ever dangerous through the entire 90 and just so happens to be another perfect type of player for this Mixed and Mixed style

PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS

Every single episode will display the varying player instructions that we have chosen for each starting XI, and in this one we have chosen to give Lindelƶf the captains arm band since he is the most experienced player in the squad (with Mcginn being the VC). We have a set piece specialist in Szoboszlai who will put it on a plate for his teammates in addition to looking to score himself. As mentioned earlier, Vintinha is the hub of the team with almost everything going through him; We couldn’t leave the Ghanaian starboy out of the equation and have granted him with the responsibility of getting the job done from 12 yards out. And in Matheus Cunha we have a player who never wants to play with his back to goal or forever lurking on the defenders shoulder so will therefore not be used as our Target Man.

Three episodes in and this already has the making of being our best season yet! Stay tuned for out next episode as things are about to get “DIRECT”! šŸ˜‰
