It’s The Southeast VS The Midlands today, as we bring you our first ever official match as the Manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers within Soccermanger 24…
Let’s not waste any time and get straight into the matchup!
In our previous episode, we gained a sneak peak from our Assistant Manager as to how he expected Bouremouth to set up and it’s safe to say that he almost got it absolutely spot on, with the only difference being that Ryan Christie, the attack minded ‘Box to Box Midfielder’ is staring in the AM(C) position instead of Philip Billing… The players are really eager to put on a show for the Eleven thousand supporters in attend-
Oh, wait… Now, I’m one for always getting assistance when it’s neccessary, but if we were to look at what my Assistant is telling me and compare it to the match statistics so far, well something’s not quite adding up… 🤔Just had to tell my Assistant Manager to “🤬 off” and “go call Jordão from his warm up”… Doyley hasn’t been having that much of an impact today, so we’re utilizing our bench with our first chess move…“Go on, Lad!”, shouted the Wolverhampton fan watching the game from his TV screen since the UK seems to still be under lockdown even though we’re in 2023… 😶You’re making quite a good point there, Johnny (for once)…As a tactician, we like to think outside of the box… One of the ways we do so is through identifying the weakness within the opposition’s formation. And in the set up of the 4-2-3-1A within SM24 (as well as the fact that both starting pivots have been substituted for more attack minded players), we have came up with a plan to cause havoc with all that devilish space left in between the lines for us to exploit… Matheus Cunha has had a stinker today and will be the victim of our tactical innovation (sorry mate)…On comes on Fábio Silva to the jeer of the Bournemouth fans.
Oh, wait… 😶 Our brilliant masterplan is that Fábio Silva, although a ‘Target Man’, has the following attributes which mean that he’ll suit our tactical change down to a tee…What we’re planning to do is to manipulate that open space behind of Bouremouth’s midfield by having Fábio operate as a ‘Deep-lying Forward’, while Hwang stretches the back line via the use of his Movement to create further space. Let’s also remember that Jordão and Bellegrade are also looking to exploit that area, so we should be able to create some chances with this new approach! 🤞We’re going for gold!!!Oh, we’ve also subbed off Semedo for Aït-Nouri, placed Neto to the right while Aït-Nouri operates off the left…Turns out that our tactical changes weren’t enough to secure all 3 points… Oh well, ya win some, lose some, and draw some!Have to give shoutouts to the likes of Hoever and Bellegrade who stood out with their performances, while both Neto and Semedo left a lot to be seen…
The spoils have been shared during our first match as the Manager of Wolves. There are some good points to take away as well as some bad points that need further analyzing.
