SEASON 11: SM24 (THE REVIEW); EPISODE 2: Creative Freedom

So… The team is set, and it’s time for us to get ready for the season!

Ofcourse the most important element of any Soccermanager game will always be the tactics… Do we go for something plain and easy to follow, or do we announce ourselves as a tacticial genius seeking to shake up the Premier League? You should already know what we chose… 😌

So, here it is! 🎺

For your continuous education, let’s explain why we’ve chosen to use this variation of a 3-5-2:

Our back 3 sets the tone for the foundation both on and off the ball, with the 3 man midfield being the most important trio on the pitch, the wide players seeking to do both offensive and defensive work but have been granted more license to get forward with thier base positions, while the front 2 lead the line via their versatility (more on the player roles in a future episode).
Generally speaking, one of the biggest benefits of a 3-5-2 is that it allows for an attacking style due to the midfield and defence having enough protection to deal with the opposition. Therefore, we’ve chosen to get on the front foot, utilizing  our fast build up play to take the necessary risks on the ball which could cause us to always be a threat…
This is in accordance to us playing a direct style that intends to cause havoc whlist in posession since we won’t be wasting any time in our attempt to pelt the opposition’s GK
Seems like we’ve probably struck tactical goal (well, not really… And why the heck does all of these lads still look the same? 🤦‍♂️)
The overall general set up of Wolverampton Wanderers’ 23/24 season…
On the ball we must be swift! 🏃 💨
Off the ball, we gotta put in a shift!!🏃 🔥 💨
Okay, so we lied… 😅
Turns out that the back up F(C)’s that we have don’t fit our style of play, so we have no other choice than to venture into the transfer market…

In addition to how SM singular player mode games have a fetish for injuries, we also need a youngin coming through that could end up becoming the next best thing in a few seasons!

Let’s see what the market has for us.

In a bit…
