Season 8: The Randon Season Epiosde 5: The best starting X1 within SMW

You may be wondering what the above image is all about… Well, let’s just say that we’ve got some quite tactically intellectual people within the Soccermanagerverse!

A good mate of mine has been following the journey of the SMB since day 1, and we’ve been in constant interaction with each other ever since we first connected via Facebook. I now consider him an integral memeber within the ‘Soccermanager Tactican’ group. Oh, what’s this group I’m talking about? Well, it’s a group for only the elite Soccermanager fans who are eager to actually improve their game and become the best of the best. If you’re interested (serious enquires only. We ain’t wasting any time here), I’ll leave a link at the end of this episode.

When it comes to selecting an ultimate starting X1 within any team sport, it will be extremely subjective since every person actually has a different perspective on their take towards Soccer (especially the tactical elements of it). However, if it’s one thing that can be done is the creation of an actual balanced team that could potentially play together (albeit, it will never actually happen since these players have too big of an ego). Nevertheless, let’s take a look at what my mate Mike considers to be his best Starting X1 within SMW:

Although this team looks incredibly exciting and I am a fan of these players, it will be quite the task to actually get them playing as a unit based on each of thier prefferd styles. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is indeed the strongest X1 based on player ratings

Now, it wouldn’t be a SMB special without giving you more options, right? 😉

Here’s what The SMB believes is the best X1 based on actual balance (and don’t worry, we’ll keep the player ratings as high as possible):

If you wanted to actually go all out in terms of attacking, then here’s the “best” X1 for that:

If you’re a pragmatist (shout out to Simon Clayton, another worthy member of the Facebook group) then here’s the “best” defensive X1:

Ofcourse all of this is based on being hypothetical, but isn’t it just fun to imaging having such an outstanding starting X1 at your disposal?

Come to think of it, why haven’t I given each X1 their respective roles 🤦
