SEASON 5: Soccermanager 23; Episode 5: MAIN MENU

I hope you’ve been enjoying this week filled with SM23 blogs so far. We end it off today with the all to important ‘Main Menu’ area. A place where you’ll find yourself checking out everything on this list from time to time.

Let’s get the ball rolling, shall we?

SQUAD

If you lack a bit of patience, this is normally the very first thing that you look for once you’ve downloaded this game (and I don’t blame you). It’s an addiction to see the current players within your team, check out their ratings, morale, age, fitness and the whole lot…. You can also get to see your current reserve team players as well as the players who are loaned out.

Some players from the Brighton first team
Some players that are currently on loan
Here is where you will find most of your youth players who have been offered a contract with the first team

MANAGER

The place where you get to leave your legacy. On this page, you can develop your ability as a manager via using manager points to buy traits, check out your expectations from the board, as well as view your manager record:

Manager trait page (we’ll be going into more depth about this in a future episode)
Here you can locate your objectives

We’re aiming for at least a win % of 70 lads!

SCHEDULE

The schedule is where you check out upcoming fixtures as well as arrange friendlies during pre-season.

FINANCES

🎶 HERE COMES THE MONEY!!!! 🎶

Always remember that your club is a business, and they’re in the business of winning matches and trophies, not to mention finishing in a good position in the league which ensures that your managerial ability has a positive impact on your club’s bottom line.

TACTICS

Y’all already know this is my bread and butter! 😎🤑😁
There’s absolutely no need to explain this page since this is the MAIN reason why we play this game in the first place (and you already know I’ll be going into as much detail as possible about SM23 tactics in future episodes 😉).

How should we play? 🤔

LEAGUE

This is where you can ofcourse check your current league position, how many matches have been played, your upcoming fixture, the league stats, as well as the history of the competition that you are participating in.

DOMESTIC CUPS

Similar to the league, but with more focus on the domestic cup competitions.

Fixtures within the 1st round of the FA Cup

CONTINENTAL CUPS

My target is to have us competing in this tournament by the 2023-24 season:

🎶 THESE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! 🎶

TRANSFERS

Transfers will forever be an exciting part of football, and that dosen’t change on SM23. You can insert your own adjusted search options, or simply search for a club or player within the search bar. You can also check out the transfers that have already been completed so far as well as viewing your own transfer activity:

It’s like a ghost town in here…..

STADIUM

Here is where you get to upgrade different stands in your stadium in order to increase the total capacity and increase the club’s revenue (another stream of income).

CLUB ZONE

The club zone is where the day to day business aspect of your club takes place. You can find anything from the Merchandise department to the Injury prevention department (man, this game is so professional!).

The ‘Club Zone’

TRAINING

I breifly mentioned it in yesterday’s episode, and this is another brief explanation since I’ll go into more depth about training within a future episode.

Your club’s ‘Training Ground’

SCOUTING

Another area where I mentioned briefly and will also be given it’s own series of episodes coming to your screen soon.

The ‘Scouting’ area

YOUTH

Football is nothing without players, and there must be a system in place where the constant development of future stars is happening automatically. The youth facilities is where you develop your own string of youngsters who will potentially become future members of your first team. Here is another area that I’ll be going into more detail since there arep some important aspects of youth development that I’d like to discuss.

The all too important ‘Youth Facility’

And with that, we end the first week of season 5’s detailed look into SM23. As I’ve mentioned within this blog, there are some areas within this game that require its very own set of episodes and that’s what we’ll be getting into from next week ( won’t tell you which one we are starting with just to keep you guessing 🤭😉)

See you next week soccermanagerite!
