SEASON 4: PLAYER ROLES; EPISODE 34: A set piece masterclass

Just when you thought the season was over, here I am yet again conjuring up some more valuable content in the soccermanager laboratory.

If there’s one thing I despise, it’s seeing players who’ve never taken a set piece in their professional lives taking them in soccermanager worlds. Most of the times it’s down to the custom set up of having the ‘no.8’ position do everything within the ‘player instruction’ area, other times it’s down to a manager not setting up their team, or it could just be the aggrevating scenario of a manager doing some B.S like having Maguire taking corners and ending up getting a goal because of it( I swear nothing infuriates me more than the latter). Whatever the case, it is my responsibility to ensure that the realistic qualities of real life soccer are implemented into soccermanager. Therefore, I have decided to treat everyone by displaying the best set piece takers within Soccermanager worlds based on their ‘Freekick’ and ‘Corner kick’ attributes within SM23.

Since there are sooo many players within Soccermanager, I’ve kept the list down to players rated between 90-99 so that we all could have at least 1 set piece specialist within our team.

Deity advice: DO NOT underestimate the importance of set pieces. If you’ve ever had a player taking freekicks and corners gaining a hot streak of goals or assists, you’re in huge luck as these set pieces will account for at least 10% of the goals you score within a season.
