SEASON 3: FORMATION MATTERSEpisode 28: The 5’s series (5-4-1 B)

The 5-4-1 B set up within Soccermanager Worlds

WOW! WE MADE IT! After 28 different episodes ranging from 3-1-3-3’s to 4-2-2-2’s, we’ve come to the final formation we’ll be diving into on Soccermanager.

The 5-4-1B formation is a bit more of a realistic look into how the formation will actually be played during a real life match consisting of 5 defenders 2 Central Midifielders, 2 Wide players and 1 Forward. The problem I have with this however is the position of the 2 Wide Players. This formation was never meant to be for attacking, yet its set up makes it very similar to the 5-2-3 formation and that is simply unnacceptable in my point of view. As a matter of fact, there should’ve never been a part A&B of the 5-4-1 as no one in real manager actually plays it in this manner. Nevertheless, if you were to have to choose between the 5-4-1A or 5-4-1B, I’d advise that you indeed choose this one.

PROS
• Wide players can be used within this formation
• Centre Forward has more help offensively compared to the 5-4-1A

CONS
• Formation cannot be used throughout an entire season
• Not suitable for any type of forward except a Targer Man

AND THAT’S A WRAP! We have completed the Formation Matters season 3 soccermanagerites! It’s been a pleasure writing these blog posts for you as always. The fun dosen’t stop around these parks, so gear up to be amazed by what we have in store for next season…….. 😉
